    As the peak body for volunteering in the ACT, VolunteeringACT holds the responsibility under the ACT Community Recovery Plan to coordinate spontaneous volunteers.

    The difference that you can make to a disaster-affected family, community group, business or individual - even years after an extreme weather event - is immeasurable.

    Most Emergency Volunteering roles will get you dirty and it will be repetitive, but despite this, so many volunteers who have participated in recovery projects view it as a life-changing experience.

    When will I be deployed as an Emergency Volunteer? There are two phases of action for Emergency Volunteering CREW - these phases affect the amount and type of volunteers being deployed.

    In the ACT, the EV CREW service is managed by a team of volunteers and staff within VolunteeringACT. VolunteeringACT is the State’s peak body for volunteering and our mission is to create an environment which promotes and sustains effective volunteerism.
